cieneguilla

On Monday, we headed over the mountain, about an hour from our house, to the sunny side of Lima. Unfortunately, the sun didn't shine for us, but we were still able to enjoy lots of outside time. The kids were so happy to have green space and friends to play with (two luxuries for them here). They played soccer, basketball, cards, and tag, laid/played in the hammock, shot marshmallow guns, made up games, took walks, sat by the fire and made s'mores, and braved the pool even though it was freezing. They were dirty and happy. It was so nice to get out of the concrete jungle and remember what it is like to have grass to run around on.

We had two bedrooms and 12 people, so we threw all of the kids (except Tyler) in one room. They loved sharing a room, especially at 6am when they were up and ready to go.

Picnicking by a dry riverbed where a small herd of sheep, a horse, and other animals were grazing nearby.

Brady cried when we left and then promptly fell asleep.
