us lately

Sorry for the lack of blogging this past week- it was a crazy week in the Goodfellow home. Here's a bit of the craziness...

We had Vacation Bible School at our house (actually the grass beside our house) for 5 days. The kids had a blast with all of their neighborhood friends!

Other updates on life around these parts:

-Still doing swim team (every day of the week but Friday and Sunday). Kids still suck although Ford had time improvements in all 3 events that he swam last week. Riley has had no time improvements and had a bit of a breakdown about that. Here is Ford sinking during the backstroke.

-Kids did soccer camp for a week. They are much better at soccer than swimming.

-Gramma, Big Dad, and Aunt Hannah came in town for a quick visit. Fun was had by all and lots of trips to Yogurtland were included.

-Still doing and loving the South County Project. We had a huge 4th of July event that over 400 people attended. I have to brag on Blake- he was in charge of the event, worked his tail off on it, and it rocked. We have also had Sunday services, marriage forums, prayer nights, and serve events. We are so thankful to be a part of this team and can't wait to see where the South County Project goes after the summer.

-Tyler is trying to crawl. Things will obviously change once she becomes mobile. For now, she sits in her stroller and watches her older siblings do life. She also loves grass now.

-I am going to a taping of So You Think You Can Dance? on Tuesday!!!!!!

-Brady's favorite color is still pink.

-We are so excited about the response to The Riley Project. Thank you so much to everyone who has given money towards the well (proper thank you notes will be coming soon). Riley will be doing her first "job" soon- we are still working on the details. She is also going to post soon on her progress- which is not really "her" progress, since all progress has come from you guys giving towards the well. The church that we are attending this summer (as a part of the South County Project) is also making The Riley Project their August mission. All money raised by the children and youth ministry in August will go towards the well. Another friend is going to be making a "button" for Riley's blog. We are truly blessed by the community that has come forward and loved on Riley. I wish that everyone could see her face when she reads comments left on her blog and letters that she has received, when I tell her how friends are helping her, when she hears how much money has been raised, and when she prays for the well.

Hi Sarah - I don't think we've ever met but I'm a friend of Jenn Hali's and she told me about your blog. I just spent the last hour reading the WHOLE THING. We have so much in common. I love your passion for giving and serving, and reading your essays on politics. We also just had a baby, and had uncertainties about a chromosomal disorder during the pregnancy, and our first daughter was in the NICU for a week for severe jaundice. I was relating so much to your feelings about that time!

Anyways, hopefully we will meet some day. Have a great time at SYTYCD - I'm jealous!
