breakthrough?

Tyler's latest bili levels were 16.9 and 14.5- her lowest yet! Again, we're trying not to get too excited because we've seen them go up, but this is obviously the most promising news we've gotten since Tuesday. They turned off one of her phototherapy lights and we'll see how this effects her next levels. So, it's still a waiting game- we need her levels to at least stay the same so they don't have to put the light back on. We talked to the liver specialist this morning and he doesn't think there is anything wrong with her liver. He seems to think that she has an extreme case of breastmilk jaundice. Therefore, she needs another day or two off the breastmilk. I have been pumping every 3 hours since Tyler went into the hospital and my milk supply has been great, so I should be able to nurse her when she comes home! He also checked her startle response- a lack of it would indicate brain damage and Tyler startled so we are very hopeful that there's no brain damage. He also said that she would be very irritable and Tyler has been calm and happy (except when she's hungry). I think both Blake and I finally feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel and Tyler is on her way to coming home. We are so, so thankful for everyone's prayers on Tyler's behalf. It truly is a blessing to be covered in prayer.

YAY YAY YAY. We won't get too excited just yet, but this is GREAT news. The prayers are being heard! We will continue asking for her levels to decrease and for your entire family's strength! Go God!
